SHOWCASE: SUNDAY, June 23 @ 3PM

Chicago-style Magic: Level One is dedicated to the style of magic that was developed at the bars and restaurants right here in the Windy City. Students will learn the secrets of magic luminaries, such as Matt Schulien, Ed Marlo, Al Leech, Heba Haba Al, and dozens of others who paved the way to what would become known the world over as 'Chicago-style Magic.' Students will discover that this art is not about skill and showing off; it is about creating magical moments to share with your audience.

This course is designed for non-magicians who want to learn how to perform a few tricks and practicing magicians looking to hone their skills in Chicago-style Magic. No performance experience necessary.

*There will be no class on Saturday, May 25th in observance of Memorial Day weekend.

Please note: Students must be 18 years or older to participate.

Meet the headmaster of the Chicago Magic Lounge, Danny Rudnick!

MISTER DANNY has been performing magic since he was 5 years old. He is a regular performer at the Chicago Magic Lounge, performing magic on stage, close-up in the 654 Club, and for families during the Sunday matinee shows. He has won multiple awards for his stage and close-up magic, and performs all over Chicago at private house parties, corporate events, and even monthly at the University of Chicago Children’s Hospital.

Outside of performing, Danny is the head of the Magic Inc. week-long summer magic camp for kids. He is also the editor of The Complete Al Leech, a book all about the magic of Chicago legend Al Leech, and is the inventor of The Selec-Trick Deck, which is a trick that has received rave reviews from many notable magicians.

And, on top of all the above accomplishments, Danny is a high school chemistry teacher in Evanston, IL.
